Vertigo Treatment in Uttam Nagar — FAQs
What does vertigo treatment cost in Uttam Nagar?
The ENT consultation is ₹500, which covers the examination and positional testing. If a hearing test is needed, audiometry (PTA) is ₹1500. You are told the cost of anything additional before it is done. Follow-up after 3 days is chargeable.
Can vertigo be cured in one sitting?
BPPV, which is the most common cause of positional vertigo, often responds substantially to a single repositioning manoeuvre performed in the clinic. Other causes need medication over days to weeks. So sometimes yes, and sometimes no — which is why the type has to be identified first.
Is vertigo an ear problem or a brain problem?
The large majority of vertigo cases are inner-ear in origin and are managed by an ENT specialist. A small proportion have a neurological cause, and there are specific warning signs for that — sudden severe imbalance with headache, double vision, slurred speech, facial numbness or weakness. If you have those, it needs urgent medical attention rather than a routine appointment.
Why does my vertigo come back every few months?
BPPV recurs in a proportion of patients — the crystals can dislodge again. That is not a treatment failure, and it usually responds to a repeat manoeuvre. Recurrence can also mean the original diagnosis was incomplete, which is worth re-examining if it is happening often.
Should I stop driving if I have vertigo?
While you are having active attacks, yes. Vertigo that strikes without warning is genuinely dangerous behind the wheel and on stairs. We will advise you on when it is reasonable to resume based on how your attacks are behaving.
Do I need an MRI for vertigo?
Not for typical positional vertigo. Imaging is considered when the examination suggests a cause outside the inner ear, when there are neurological signs, or when the pattern of symptoms does not fit a standard inner-ear picture.
