Can I walk in, or do I need an appointment?

Will ear wax removal be done on the same day?
Usually yes. The ear is first examined with an otoscope, and if the wax is soft enough it is removed in the same visit under direct vision. If it is very hard or the eardrum is inflamed, we prescribe softening drops for a few days first — that is safer than forcing it out.
Do I need an ENT, or will a general physician do?
For a mild cold or sore throat, a general physician is usually enough. See an ENT when a problem keeps coming back or does not settle — recurring ear infections, ear discharge, a blocked nose lasting more than a few weeks, hearing loss, ringing in the ears, vertigo, repeated tonsillitis, or a hoarse voice for more than two to three weeks. These need an endoscopic look inside, which a general OPD cannot do.
Do you perform ENT surgery, or do you refer patients elsewhere?
Surgery is performed in-house by our own ENT surgeons. This includes FESS (endoscopic sinus surgery), septoplasty for a deviated septum, tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, nasal polypectomy, tympanoplasty and other ear procedures. You are not sent to another hospital for the operation.
Do you treat children?
Yes, for both children and adults. Common paediatric ENT problems we see are recurring ear infections and glue ear, enlarged adenoids and mouth breathing, blocked nose, repeated tonsillitis, foreign bodies in the ear or nose, and tongue tie. The same doctor is there every day, so a nervous child can come back to a familiar face.
