Six common smile worries, and the simplest fix for each
Not every smile needs veneers. Here is what usually works, with our Janakpuri prices.
Gaps between front teeth
Small gaps are closed with composite bonding or veneers, often without braces. Wider gaps may need aligners first.
Chipped or broken edges
Small chips are rebuilt with tooth-coloured composite. A bigger break may need a veneer or crown.
Yellow or stained teeth
Try whitening first. If the stain does not lift, or a tooth is dark from inside, a veneer can cover it.
Small, worn or uneven teeth
Veneers reset the length and width so the front teeth match each other and suit your face.
Crooked or crowded teeth
Mild cases can be masked with veneers. Clearly crooked teeth usually do better with aligners or braces.
Old dark crown or filling
An old crown that shows a grey line at the gum is replaced with an E-max or zirconia crown matched to your shade.
See it on your own teeth before anything is final
A good smile is more than white teeth. Length, width, edge line and shade all have to suit your face. So Dr. Kalpana plans it first and shows you a trial smile in your mouth.
Check-up and smile photos
Gums, bite and old fillings are checked and your smile is photographed. ₹300, with a written plan and cost.
Your smile plan
Shape, length and shade are planned around your face, lips and gum line.
Trial smile
The planned shape is copied onto your teeth in temporary tooth-coloured material. Look in the mirror, take photos, show your family, ask for changes.
Final veneers or crowns
Only after you approve. Composite is shaped in the chair; E-max and porcelain are made in a lab to match the trial.

Composite, E-max or porcelain: what's the difference?
All three cost ₹10,000–15,000 per tooth at our Janakpuri clinic. They differ in how they are made, how they look and how much of the tooth is shaped.
Composite veneers
Tooth-coloured resin built up and polished directly on your tooth.
- Usually little or no drilling of the tooth
- Often done in one sitting
- Can stain or chip over the years, but can be polished or repaired
Good for: small gaps, chips and a quicker change.
E-max veneers
Thin, strong glass-ceramic (lithium disilicate) shells bonded to the front of the teeth.
- Strong, and light passes through like natural enamel
- Resists stains
- A thin layer of enamel is shaped, and it takes at least two visits
Good for: changing the shape and shade of several front teeth.
Porcelain veneers
Porcelain layered by a dental technician for a very lifelike colour.
- Most lifelike shade and translucency
- Resists stains
- Needs enamel shaping, lab time and careful handling
Good for: matching a very specific shade.
Not sure? You don't have to choose now. Dr. Kalpana suggests a material after seeing your teeth, and materials can be mixed: for example composite for a small chip and E-max where the shape changes.

When we'll suggest something else
Veneers are a permanent decision for many teeth. If something simpler will do, you'll hear it from us first.
Only yellow? Whiten first
If the shape is fine and only the colour bothers you, whitening (₹8,000–15,000) may be all you need. Fillings and crowns don't whiten, so they are planned together.
Healthy gums come first
Bleeding gums, decay or leaking old fillings are treated before any cosmetic work, so the new smile lasts.
Crooked? Straighten, don't shave
Clearly crooked teeth often do better with braces or aligners (from ₹25,000) than with heavy veneers.
Grind at night? Tell us
Grinding can chip veneers. If you clench or grind, a night guard after treatment protects the new teeth.
Smile designing and veneers: your questions
How much does smile designing cost in Janakpuri?
At Sharanya Dental and Implant Care, Janakpuri, composite, E-max and porcelain veneers cost ₹10,000–15,000 per tooth. The total depends on how many teeth are treated: for example, 6 front teeth come to about ₹60,000–90,000. Front-tooth crowns cost ₹7,000–12,000 (zirconia) or ₹10,000–15,000 (E-max), and teeth whitening ₹8,000–15,000. The check-up is ₹300. Prices vary case to case, and you get the final figure in writing after the check-up.
What exactly is smile designing?
Smile designing means planning the length, width, edge line and shade of your front teeth to suit your face, lips and gums, and then creating that smile with veneers, crowns, bonding or whitening, or a mix of them.
Can I see my new smile before the treatment is done?
Yes. After planning, Dr. Kalpana copies the new shape onto your teeth in temporary tooth-coloured material (a trial smile, or mock-up). You can see it, photograph it and ask for changes. The final work is made only after you approve the look.
Composite, E-max or porcelain veneers: which is better?
None is best for everyone. Composite is shaped directly on the tooth, needs little or no drilling and is often done in one sitting, but it can stain or chip over time. E-max and porcelain are ceramic shells made in a lab: they resist stains and look very natural, but usually need a thin layer of enamel shaped and at least two visits. At our Janakpuri clinic all three cost ₹10,000–15,000 per tooth.
Do veneers damage the natural teeth?
Ceramic veneers usually need a thin layer of enamel removed so they don't look bulky. That enamel does not grow back, so it is a permanent decision. Composite veneers often need little or no shaping. Dr. Kalpana will tell you how much of your tooth, if any, needs shaping before you decide.
Does getting veneers hurt?
Composite work is usually comfortable and often needs no injection. Where enamel is shaped for ceramic veneers, the tooth is numbed first. Some sensitivity for a few days afterwards can happen and usually settles.
How many visits does it take?
Composite veneers can often be finished in one sitting after planning. E-max and porcelain veneers need at least two visits after the trial smile, one to prepare the teeth and take impressions and one to fit them, because they are made in a lab. Your written plan lists the visits.
How long do veneers last?
It depends on the material and on how you look after them. Ceramic veneers generally last longer than composite and resist stains better; composite may need polishing or small repairs over the years. Brush and floss as usual, avoid biting hard things like ice or pen caps, and wear a night guard if you grind your teeth.
Should I get teeth whitening or veneers?
If the shape of your teeth is fine and only the colour bothers you, whitening (₹8,000–15,000) is usually the first step. Veneers make sense for gaps, chips, worn or uneven teeth, or stains that whitening cannot lift. Existing crowns and fillings don't whiten, so they are planned together.
Can a gap between front teeth be closed without braces?
Small gaps can often be closed with composite bonding or veneers, without braces. If the gap is wide or the teeth are crooked, aligners or braces may give a better result, and Dr. Kalpana will tell you so.
Are veneers and laminates the same thing?
Yes. In India, veneers are often called laminates or dental laminates. Veneers in Janakpuri at Sharanya Dental cost ₹10,000–15,000 per tooth, in composite, E-max or porcelain.
Do I need a cosmetic dentist for a smile makeover?
A smile makeover is cosmetic dentistry, and it works best when it is planned by someone trained in restoring teeth. At our Janakpuri clinic it is planned by Dr. Kalpana Yadav, a prosthodontist (MDS), who also handles crowns, bridges and implants if your plan needs them.
Can it be done before a wedding or function?
Tell us your date at the first visit. Composite work can be quicker; ceramic veneers need lab time. Start early so there is time for the trial smile and any changes.
Is EMI available for smile designing?
Yes. EMI is available through Bajaj Finserv and GMoney, subject to approval. Ask at the clinic or on WhatsApp at 84488 66205.
