Why one treatment is rarely enough
Acne scars form when deep pimples damage the collagen under the skin. Some heal as narrow pits, some as wide dips and some as raised bumps, and most people have a mix.
That is why the doctor plans a combination over a few sessions: TCA CROSS for the deepest pits, subcision for the dips, then laser or dermabrasion to even out the surface. Active pimples are brought under control first, because new breakouts leave new scars.
Collagen rebuilds slowly, so improvement shows over weeks and months, with sessions spaced apart to let the skin recover.

Which treatment is best for my acne scars?
It depends on the scar type. Ice-pick scars respond to TCA CROSS, rolling scars to subcision, boxcar scars to fractional CO2 laser, and raised scars to laser or surgical abrasion. Most people need a combination, which the doctor plans after examining your skin.
How many sessions will I need?
Usually several, spaced a few weeks apart so the skin can rebuild collagen. The doctor tells you the likely number after seeing your scars.
Can scars be treated while I still get pimples?
Active acne is controlled first with medicines and peels, because new pimples can leave new scars. Scar treatment starts once breakouts are under control.
Are dark marks after pimples the same as scars?
No. Flat brown or red marks are pigment and usually lighten with peels such as a TCA peel (₹3,500) or glycolic peel (₹4,000). Pits and dips in the skin are true scars.
